Students of all ages are welcome to train at the Dojang. We offer classes for adults and children. Please inquire via the contact form or message the Dojang through Facebook. Prospective students are also encouraged to drop in to watch a class, no appointment is needed.
Tae Kwon Do at The Dojang is traditional Korean Tae Kwon Do led by 8th Degree Associate Grand Master Daranyi (BuKwanJangNim Marie). The Dojang is a member of the United Chung Do Kwan Association under 9th Degree Grand Master, Hyun Ok Shin. The Dojang has been located inside the Tucson Racquet Club for over 30 years and we are pleased to offer a full compliment of classes for children and adults. Adult classes are held 4 nights a week. We are one of the few martial arts schools in Tucson to offer classes that target the unique needs of adult learners in adult-only classes. Children’s classes are held on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons.
CURRICULUM
The Tae Kwon Do curriculum is based on traditional Korean forms, foundational blocks and attacks, basic and advanced kicking, and self-defense instruction. Controlled contact sparring and board breaking demonstrations are also part of the curriculum, and are added when appropriate technique and maturity are demonstrated by the participants.
BENEFITS OF MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING
Training in Tae Kwon Do offers an opportunity for students to build confidence and respect for themselves and others. Additionally, students develop fitness, coordination, focus and self-awareness. The Dojang is a very supportive community that focuses on personal development through martial arts training.
